The Public Solicitor of Papua New Guinea, Mr. Leslie B Mamu paid a courtesy visit to the Office of the Public Solicitor in Vanuatu this week. The Public Solicitor (Acting) Ms. Jane K Tari and her team met with Mr. Mamu at the OPS, Port Vila on 12 June 2025. 

The anticipated visit was timely and productive discussion emanated from the dialogue between them on common challenges and growing needs of the office. 

The visit has paved a way to foster collaboration between the two countries joining Fiji and Solomon Islands OPS with the hope to connect them to the "Wantok Legal Network". Promising opportunities were introduced through the founder of the " Wantok Legal Network" who is Mr. Mamu himself.

He has offered his insights in the work achieved so far through the Network and the effective collaboration between the existing regional partners. Mr. Mamu is now extending the opportunity for OPS Vanuatu to Join and be part of this important legal development. Ms. Tari is anticipating a twinning agreement between the two OPS in the very near future.

It is believed that what this twinning program offers will affect the quality of legal service provided to the benefit of the people of this nation to whom we owe legal service. This meeting earmarks the birth of a long-awaited relationship between OPS PNG and OPS Vanuatu.
