The Office of the Public Solicitor (OPS) proudly conducted the soft launch of two important initiatives aimed at strengthening its services in the provinces: the handover of a 20-foot storage container and the official commencement of Starlink connectivity services in the OPS provincial offices in Tanna, Malekula, and Santo.
The event marked a significant step toward improving the operational capacity of provincial offices and enhancing access to justice services across Vanuatu.
As part of the soft launch, the Office received a 20-foot container that will be used to securely store OPS closed files. This initiative comes at an important time as the Vanuatu National Archives is currently facing storage capacity constraints.
The additional storage facility will help preserve important records, ensure proper file management, and maintain the integrity of legal documents while supporting the continued operations of the Office.
Another key achievement celebrated during the launch was the establishment of Starlink internet connectivity for the OPS provincial offices in Tanna, Malekula, and Santo. The Starlink network provides reliable internet access that will greatly improve communication and operational efficiency between the provincial offices and OPS Headquarters in Port Vila.
The new connectivity will facilitate secure access to the Legal Case Management System (LCMS), enabling staff in the provinces to manage legal matters more effectively, access information in real time, and provide improved services to clients throughout the country. The enhanced connection will also strengthen communication and collaboration between provincial staff and headquarters, ensuring timely support and coordination.
